Responsibilities

  • Apply incoming cash (checks, wires, ACHs) to correct customers’ accounts.
  • Minimize unidentified cash and proactively investigate for resolution.
  • Process customers’ credit card payments and provide receipts.
  • Process returned items and reconcile monthly cash log to the bank statement.
  • Process customer credits (repair & maintenance, tax) and outgoing wire payments.
  • File all reports and documentation in the designated area on a weekly basis.
  • Serve as backup for other Cash Application functions.
  • Ensure timely completion of work, including catching up after absences.
  • Act as first-level escalation and Subject Matter Expert for the Cash Application team.
  • Assist in training new hires and creating process documentation.
  • Track and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and bank detail, reconcile accounts, and perform monthly reconciliations.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of work experience in accounting, cash application, and/or collections; or an Associate’s Degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience in accounting, cash application, and/or collections.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
  • Proficiency in interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, contracts, technical procedures, financial reports, legal documents, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
