About the role

The Caseworker / RRH Placement Coordinator provides direct case management, housing coordination, and participant support services within a CDCR Day Reporting Center serving the Adult Parole population. This position supports participants in developing and achieving individualized Case Management Plans (CMPs) and in securing stable housing and accessing supportive community resources through Rapid Rehousing (RRH) services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face case management and participant support services to adults on parole.
  • Develop individualized Case Management Plans (CMPs) and monitor participant progress toward identified goals.
  • Maintain accurate participant case files, progress notes, and service documentation.
  • Conduct participant check-ins, assessments, referrals, discharge planning, and aftercare coordination.
  • Absorb barriers to housing stability, recovery, employment, and community reintegration.
  • Identify, organize, maintain, and disseminate housing resources conducive to long-term recovery and stable housing.
  • Locate housing opportunities from a variety of community and market-rate housing sources.
  • Absorb participants with housing applications, housing search activities, and communication with landlords and housing providers.
  • Develop individualized housing placement plans based on participant goals and needs.
  • Provide referrals to community housing resources, supportive services, and other community-based providers.
  • Monitor participant compliance with RRH and transitional housing requirements.
  • Facilitate housing-related workshops, meetings, and educational activities focused on successful tenancy and housing retention.
  • Collaborate with CDCR staff, parole agents, community providers, landlords, and multidisciplinary program staff.
  • Support evolving program operations and participant service needs in a dynamic reentry services environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ace or Associate of Science (AS) degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with justice-involved populations, housing services, case management, or a related field; OR, Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a similar position serving justice-involved populations.
  • Experience working with justice-involved individuals, specifically Adult Parole populations, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with housing navigation, Rapid Rehousing (RRH), supportive housing, case management, or community resource coordination preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources, housing systems, participant advocacy, and rehabilitative service delivery.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage diverse participant populations in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards of conduct.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOJ Live Scan background clearance.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license with no serious infractions within the past four (4) years.
  • Must be insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy.
  • Must have access to reliable personal transportation for work-related duties.
  • Must possess current TB clearance and CPR/First Aid Certification or obtain upon hire.
