About the role
The Casework Supervisor is responsible for overseeing casework functions and supervising direct-service staff at a CDCR Day Reporting Center serving the Adult Parole population. This position ensures that participant services, documentation, treatment methodologies, and case management practices are delivered in alignment with evidence-based practices and CDCR DRP contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage casework functions and supervise casework staff serving adults on parole.
- Monitor treatment service methodologies and ensure evidence-based practices are consistently utilized.
- Develop and monitor procedures governing participant documentation and case management activities.
- Ensure the Case Management Plan (CMP) process is properly implemented and followed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and participant reviews.
- Supervise screening, assessment, referral, and follow-up activities for DRC participants.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to Caseworkers and other DRC staff.
- Review assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, case documentation, and discharge summaries for quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with CDCR staff, parole agents, community providers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with monitoring vocational, counseling, and support service activities.
- Aid in the preparation of program reports, data collection, and documentation monitoring activities.
- Support program operations and staff supervision in the absence of the Program Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising casework staff working with justice-involved individuals; OR
- Minimum of six (6) cumulative years of full-time experience as a counselor in a program serving justice-involved populations.
- Experience working with justice-involved individuals, specifically Adult Parole populations, strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices, including case management, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and rehabilitative service delivery.
- Knowledge of screening, assessment, treatment planning, and documentation protocols.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary staff and coordinating participant services preferred.
- Ability to maintain compliance with CDCR DRP contract requirements and agency policies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOJ Live Scan background clearance.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license with no serious infractions within the past four (4) years.
- Must be insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy.
- Must have access to reliable personal transportation for work-related duties.
- Must possess current TB clearance and CPR/First Aid Certification or obtain upon hire.
