Position Summary/Function
This position is located at our Crisis Center in Dothan, AL, serving Saturday-Sunday from 3pm-11pm. It offers a Shift Differential. The Case Manager- Mobile Crisis Team is responsible for providing case management services to seriously mentally ill and/or substance use individuals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS
- Coordinates and provides case management services to individuals within the community via Crisis Mobile Team.
- Performs administrative functions in support of case load.
- Develops and implements case management service plan for individuals.
- Represents the needs of persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorder issues.
- Affixes individual’s records in a professional manner and in accordance with all SpectraCare policies and procedures, Alabama Administrative Code, CMS, and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
- Courteous and respectful towards individuals, visitors, and co-workers.
- Fulfills duties of Nurse Delegation Program.
- Regular attendance with timely arrival and departure according to scheduled hours.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Knowledge of psychiatric and substance use disorders in the adult population and/or knowledge of addiction as a primary/secondary illness.
- Knowledge of cultural diversity.
- Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, and interventions common to acute psychotic individuals and/or individuals with substance use issues as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practice.
- Knowledge of available community resources.
- Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders.
- Ability to design, implement/administer individualized behavioral services in regard to case management services.
- Ability to provide services in all facilities, in the community and other locations as deemed necessary.
- Motivated and able to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Able to meet and exceed expectations.
- Able to organize and perform all duties with minimum mistakes and without constant supervision.
- Effective presentation of information and responding to questions from groups of supervisors, managers, and/or the general public in an effective and understanding manner, to promote quality of care.
- Able to maintain unit files to include but not limited to recipient charts, case management documentation, etc. in accordance with the requirements of SpectraCare policies and procedures, Alabama Administrative Code, CMS and all other applicable regulating and contractual entities.
- Able to attend to detailed assignments and follow through with task until completion.
- Able to perform all duties in a safe manner, without endangering any employee or asset.
- Working knowledge of business English, spelling and math.
- Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Skill in keying rapidly and accurately.
- Able to provide excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate with recipients, families, and/or other agencies regarding case management services.
- Able to adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Able to adhere to duties assigned by Supervisor and/or other designees.
- Able to operate office machines such as computers, copier, fax machines and/or other equipment or programs.
- Able to make minor decisions in accordance with rules and regulations and apply these to work problems.
- Able to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
- Able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA law and 42 CFR.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, all levels of organizational staff and the public.

- Able to pass a drug screen when given to include but not limited to pre-employment, random, post-accident, suspicion, etc.
- Able to maintain professional boundaries with recipients i.e., not crossing professional boundaries to include but not limited to fraternization.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services and/or related field.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
- Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required.
- Willing to complete Case Management training upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Prior case management experience in a mental health/substance use setting.
