(2910) Case Manager, Mobile Crisis Outreach Team

About the role

The Crisis Clinician is embedded within the Cedar Park Police Department, partnering with officers in the Mental Health Unit, and is a member of the Northern Hub Mobile Crisis Outreach Team. This position provides services in-person and via televideo in Williamson and Burnet Counties to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health crises.

Responsibilities

• Provide services in-person and via televideo in Williamson and Burnet Counties to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health crises;
• Co-respond with officers;
• Reduce police involvement when appropriate;
• Support coordination of treatment in lieu of arrest, emergency department use and hospitalization;
• Dispatch to various community locations (i.e. schools, emergency rooms, homes and BTCS clinics) to provide crisis intervention, screening, referral, relapse prevention and follow-up services;
• Follow-up services may include case management, individual and group skills training, Person- Centered Recovery Planning, supported housing/employment, discharge planning and linkage to ongoing services;
• Collaboratively partner with law enforcement, the medical community, schools, families, and social service agencies to assist persons in crisis;
• Possess strong knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and practices of working with individuals experiencing a mental health, substance use, and/or developmental crisis, and communicate effectively with persons and families from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds;
• Use integrated computer database programs to access files and document services, and organize and prioritize work assignments;
• Work independently, yet collaboratively, with a flexible work schedule and rotating on-call responsibilities at $30/day;
• Work on-site, including holidays, with rotating weekend shifts and night shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses, valid Texas Driver's License, and passing extensive background checks through Cedar Park Police Department.
• Preferred qualifications: Licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), master’s degree, pursuing clinical licensure in counseling, social work or a related field, bilingual in ASL or Spanish, experience in providing concurrent documentation, 2 years crisis experience, and 2 years case management experience.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with persons and families from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $52,478.00 - $67,558.00/year, with various shift differentials ranging from $1.00/hour to $6.00/hour. Additional benefits include an excellent benefits package and generous leave accruals.
