About the role
The Role: Case Manager, Liability, Evidence & Claims
Responsibilities
- Open insurance claims with all relevant carriers (liability, UM/UIM, med pay), send letters of representation, obtain claim numbers and adjuster assignments, and manage ongoing carrier communication including acknowledgment follow-up
- Draft and submit FOIA and public records requests to police departments, state agencies, and municipal offices; track request status, escalate non-responsive agencies, and ensure timely receipt of police reports, supplemental narratives, dash/body cam footage, and 911 recordings
- Request and track medical records, witness statements, scene photographs, and other essential evidence; implement systematic follow-up protocols to ensure timely receipt and flag non-responsive parties for escalation
- Conduct liability analysis from police reports, witness statements, and scene evidence; assess fault allocation, comparative negligence exposure, and evidentiary gaps; prepare comprehensive case packages for lead paralegals to draft settlement demands
- Analyze workflow inefficiencies in evidence collection and case setup processes, identify automation opportunities, and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time from intake to demand-ready status
Requirements
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience gathering and organizing liability evidence, conducting fault analysis, and managing ongoing communication with insurance carriers and government agencies. This role also requires experience handling the full evidence and records collection process, including drafting and submitting FOIA and public records requests, obtaining police reports and supplemental narratives, securing dash cam/body cam footage and 911 audio, tracking outstanding records across jurisdictions, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
Qualifications
- Experience in personal injury pre-litigation
- Experience drafting and managing FOIA / public records requests and obtaining police reports across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience opening claims, creating all coverage-related documentation, and managing relationships with insurance providers
- Experience conducting liability analysis and organizing evidence (police reports, photos, video, witness statements) into case-ready packages
