About the role

Sentinel Offender Services provides community-based, offender-funded monitoring services across North America. We offer customized offender management solutions that combine electronic monitoring technology, alcohol and substance abuse testing, and community-based programs to reduce recidivism and improve reentry success. As a Case Manager, you will handle an assigned caseload of offenders serving alternative sentences of electronic monitoring, ensuring comprehensive case management and enforcement of court-ordered restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program orientation to participants, communicating rules, regulations, and contract requirements of their sentence.
  • Review participant’s financial information to assess fees and determine the daily rate they will pay while on the program.
  • Set guidelines and requirements for participants on the Electronic Monitoring program, detailing permitted activities and scheduling.
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly compliance appointments to review activity documentation, ensure adherence to sentencing guidelines, collect program fees, and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Review and interpret daily participant exception reports, investigating non-compliance with sentencing requirements.
  • Install or visually inspect electronic monitoring equipment used by participants.
  • Testify in court for participants who fail to meet program requirements.
  • Administer required drug testing.
  • Maintain auditable case files for all participants under management.
  • Attend court to enroll and instruct participants in the Supervised Release Program.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in criminal justice or a related field; education may be accepted in lieu of experience.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background investigation and drug screening.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.

Skills

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Reliable form of transportation to ensure job attendance.
  • Strong time management to meet tight deadlines, particularly for program equipment installation.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed.
  • Effective communication with department personnel, judges, program participants, and Sentinel staff.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain efficient service levels.
  • Proficiency in preparing written reports and maintaining accurate records.
