Case Manager
About the role
The Licensed Psychotherapist will support college students from diverse backgrounds in connecting with the resources they need to thrive. They will collaborate with staff at all levels and guide students to valuable services.
Responsibilities
- Assesses and consults with the medical team on biopsychosocial factors relating to diagnosis and recommended treatment of patients.
- Collaborates with primary care providers, clinic nurses, medical assistants, psychiatrists, mental health providers, and individuals from other clinical units to provide culturally competent care for a diverse student population.
- Maintains progress with recommended treatment plans and coordinates care between providers at CAPS, Student Health Center, hospitals, and other treatment providers.
- Serves as a liaison between the student, hospital, treatment programs, campus, and community resources.
- Develops and aids in the use of community resources.
- Maintains current knowledge of University Health Services, campus, and community resources.
- Provides triage crisis assessment and crisis intervention.
- Provides consultation to other departments, staff, administrators, and faculty to enhance the social, personal, and academic functioning of students with severe psychological difficulties.
- Provides brief counseling and psychotherapy with undergraduate and graduate students (individuals, couples, and groups).
- Performs behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, brief psychotherapy, and case management on a full range of cases, including high-risk concerns.
- Coordinates and consults for After-Hours Crisis Services as scheduled.
Requirements
This is a partial year career position with a four-week unpaid summer work break. Positions with summer work breaks contain regularly scheduled non-work periods during which the Case Manager remains an employee, retains health benefits, but is not at work.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- Valid California license in good standing in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
- Expertise in clinical case management in a medical or integrated behavioral health setting
- Strong knowledge and experience providing psychological diagnoses, brief interventions, and case management services to university students
- Demonstrated multicultural competence in mental health service provision
- Broad skills and competencies associated with providing multicultural counseling services and experience with communities underserved in mental health care
- Experience providing service to a young adult population
- Solid familiarity with a wide range of psychological interventions, including harm reduction, assessment, crisis intervention, crisis management, and brief psychotherapy
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team of mental health and health providers
- Demonstrated skills and experience in developing liaison relationships and consulting with diverse faculty, staff, public and private mental health providers, and students regarding student mental health issues
- Highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to accommodate client needs and colleague requests for support
- Thorough knowledge of applicable laws and standards of professional conduct
- Experience in the use of electronic/medical records systems
- Must be computer literate

Pay
Budgeted Salary: $8345.11 per month - $10,583.13 per month for 11 months. Salary commensurate with years of licensed experience as well as specialized skills and qualifications.
