Benefits
- Maintain workflow of BOS workers handling the entire application process for new applicants, closed cases, and reopens.
- Review and authorize benefits as required.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports, including Work lists.
- Act as liaison to the Rental Assistance Unit.
- Conduct daily sweeps to ensure timely and proper service.
- Manage a team of BOS workers to interview applicants and assess eligibility for immediate needs grants, public assistance, and employment.
- Oversee teams of clerical and BOS workers to provide quick service for walk-ins and telephones.
- Interview and determine housing needs of tenants at risk for homelessness or already homeless.
- Develop and implement ant-eviction/housing plans of intervention.
- Prepare reports on key performance outcomes and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Qualifications
- A four-year high school diploma or equivalent, and three years of full-time satisfactory experience in social/human services or a related setting.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, plus eighteen months of full-time satisfactory experience as a Benefits Opportunity Specialist.
- College credit from an accredited college may substitute for experience on a 60 semester credits for 9 months basis.
Pay
$70,646.00 – $81,243.00
