Case Management Supervisor
About the role
The Case Management Supervisor provides direct supervision, coaching, and oversight to a team of Case Managers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services that support positive client outcomes. This position is responsible for monitoring service quality, ensuring contractual compliance, managing staff performance, supporting professional development, and promoting consistency in case management practices across the program.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to assigned Case Managers.
- Conduct regular individual supervision and team meetings.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff.
- Complete performance evaluations.
- Aid with hiring, onboarding, training, and retention.
- Manage employee performance and corrective action in collaboration with HR.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to assigned Case Managers.
- Monitor caseload distribution to ensure equitable workloads and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Review assessments, housing plans, service plans, case notes, and documentation for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
- Ensure services are delivered using Housing First, trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based practices.
- Facilitate regular case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to address barriers to housing stability and client success.
- Provide guidance and support for complex client situations, crisis intervention, and high-risk cases.
- Ensure compliance with all Interfaith Works policies and procedures, Montgomery County contracts, HUD regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Monitor program performance against contract deliverables and organizational performance metrics.
- Conduct routine case file audits and documentation reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans when deficiencies are identified.
- Participate in internal and external monitoring visits, audits, and contract reviews.
- Support staff with complex or high-risk client situations.
- Participate in case conferencing and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Aid with crisis intervention and problem-solving as needed.
- Ensure all client information is entered into HMIS accurately, completely, and within required timeframes.
- Maintain HMIS data quality, completeness, and timeliness for all assigned staff.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field required.
- Clinical licensure preferred.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible case management experience.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, or other vulnerable populations.
- Experience supervising case management teams serving individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Working knowledge of Montgomery County's homeless services system.
- Experience utilizing HMIS and data-driven performance management.
- Knowledge of HUD, CoC, ESG, RRH, PSH, and emergency shelter regulations.
- Experience collaborating with SEPH and Continuum of Care partners.
- Demonstrated success improving program outcomes through coaching, quality assurance, and performance management.
