Job Summary

The Technical Studies Adjunct Instructor is a part-time position requiring in-person work at an off-campus instructional site in Altavista, VA. The instructor will engage students with classroom and lab instruction using the NCCER curriculum, preparing them for careers in the HVAC field. This position requires adherence to Liberty University policies and a commitment to the university's mission.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Engage students with classroom and lab instruction using the NCCER curriculum.
• Perform and supervise trade-related work.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Work with classroom-related technology, including Canvas, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
• Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering the university's Christian model and mission.
• Supervise lab assistants, where applicable.

Qualifications And Credentials

• A minimum of four years of field experience and a journeyman's HVAC license.
• Industry-recognized licenses or certifications preferred.
• A college degree preferred.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

• Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
• Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
• Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, but must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to perform work related to the trade.
