About the role

The position involves assisting in research, monitoring submittals, managing record notation requests, providing technical support, and creating database queries and maps.

Responsibilities

• Researches to locate and obtain information from existing databases.
• Maintains quality control of Public Land Records to ensure accuracy.
• Determines suitability for notation to the BLM's Public Land Record System.
• Supports field mapping projects using GPS and digital imagery.
• Develops and maintains GIS databases and maps.
• Affirms BLM Alaska's needs and updates relevant records.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-6.
• Education: Master's or equivalent degree in Cartography or related field, or two years of full-time graduate-level education.

Skills

Requires proficiency in Microsoft databases, Computer Aided Drafting software, GIS databases, and map creation.
