About the role
The position involves assisting in research, monitoring submittals, managing record notation requests, providing technical support, and creating database queries and maps.
Responsibilities
- Researches to locate and obtain information from existing databases.
- Maintains quality control of Public Land Records to ensure accuracy.
- Determines suitability for notation to the BLM's Public Land Record System.
- Supports field mapping projects using GPS and digital imagery.
- Develops and maintains GIS databases and maps.
- Affirms BLM Alaska's needs and updates relevant records.

Qualifications
- Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-6.
- Education: Master's or equivalent degree in Cartography or related field, or two years of full-time graduate-level education.
Skills
Requires proficiency in Microsoft databases, Computer Aided Drafting software, GIS databases, and map creation.
