Carrier Development Manager

About the role

The Manager of Carrier Development is responsible for the life cycle of a carrier. Including, but not limited to vetting and onboarding, rate negotiation, contracting and awarding, and performance review. The Manager of Carrier Development reports to the SR. Director of Carrier Management.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and recommends optimum hiring of carriers.
• Negotiate rates to meet business needs.
• Engage in carrier outreach to identify and build new carrier relationships.
• Works with internal stakeholders to build carrier capacity.
• Overall accountability for the compliance of all carriers to KAGL’s standards.
• Manage carrier resources; monitor carrier performance
• Maintain & perform carrier audits of rates and performance.
• Coach, mentor, and develop talent within the group

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, transportation, or related experience
• Critical Thinking Skills
• Effective Multi-tasking
• 5 years of progressive transportation/logistics experience (Bulk preferred)
• Effective verbal and written communication & organizational skills
• Rate negotiation preferred
• Self Motivated
• Promote positive work habits including effective and timely communication, teamwork and respect for co-workers; provide constructive guidance to other employees and representatives of third parties; contribute to providing the highest quality of products and services to customers.
