About the role

The Concrete Form Leadman is responsible for supervising and coordinating erecting towers crew workers, checking tension base bolts, grouting, stacking and bolting turbines, aligning generators in the nacelle, and torquing rotors to ensure quality and accuracy on the job.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure workers under supervision perform their jobs skillfully and efficiently
• Guarantee assigned work progresses on schedule
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workers and assign duties
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of work
• Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency
• Route materials and equipment and lay out work areas
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures
• Train new workers and assist in jobsite orientation
• Maintain time and production records
• Confer with jobsite superintendent and/or Foreman to coordinate project activities
• Complete required Equipment Maintenance reports and Equipment/Materials transfer reports
• Preplan daily activities and monitor tasks
• Complete required daily project reports
• Monitor small tooling maintenance and storage and site materials
• Complete required employee documentation as needed
• Travel to different jobsites on limited notice

Requirements

• 4 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• NCCER Certification/License (preferred)
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations
• Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors
• Set a personal example of safe behavior
• Read blueprints skillfully
• Strong communication and management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines
• Read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Present information in small group situations
• Perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
• Compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form

Physical Demands

• Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions
• Maintain physical strength and stamina; use arms, hands, and legs fully
• Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks
• Stamina to perform tasks repetitively and continuously for several hours
• Work in uncontrolled environmental conditions with constant changes in weather and site conditions
• Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises
• Wear personal protective equipment (safety-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
• Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas
• Work at heights and comply with all safety and fall-protection requirements

Schedule

This is a full-time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to project requirements. Travel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the Project Site location with intermittent travel to residence of record.

Pay

$35 per hour, commensurate with experience.
