Carpenter II

About the role

Under supervision and using tools and materials for general carpentry, the Carpenter performs repairs, new installations, and preventive maintenance according to industry standards in the trade. The role involves a full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work, including fabrication and/or assembly of furniture, doors, cabinets, countertops, and installation of trim and wall accessories. The Carpenter also assists other trades as directed and performs general maintenance tasks. This is an “Essential Personnel” position, which may require reporting for duty and working through emergencies or being designated as essential for critical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of layout and construction of both metal stud and wood stud sheetrock wall systems, including hanging and finishing sheetrock.
• Basic knowledge of construction of various door systems in walls and both sheetrock and suspended acoustical ceiling tiles.
• Basic knowledge of millwork and floor finishing work.
• Complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Climb ladders, lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
• Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.
• Pass a background check.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of carpentry experience.

Preferred Qualifications
