We recruit highly skilled individuals for a variety of disciplines in the construction field. A skilled craft worker is essential to the success of any Superior Construction project. Qualified applicants will have experience working on Heavy Civil, Roadway, or Bridge Projects and must be familiar with working from heights and/or Manlifts.

Responsibilities

  • Use power and/or hand tools to construct and set forms to grade, install overhang brackets, build handrails, and remove/clean forms after placement of concrete.
  • Erect both metal and wood forms.
  • Assist with concrete pours for various structures including Pier Footings, Columns, Caps, and Bridge Decks.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, or plans to construct forms in preparation of Cast in Place (CIP) Concrete.
  • Properly use and maintain power equipment required to fulfill job duties.
  • Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.
  • Properly secure and store all tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each work day.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and deliveries.
  • Participate in site safety and protection of the environment.

Requirements

  • Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment.
  • Must be reliable and have reliable transportation.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
  • Experience working on Heavy Civil, Roadway, or Bridge Projects.
  • Familiarity with working from heights and/or Manlifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction industry experience.
  • Ability to take full ownership of assigned projects and work independently.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role. The employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The position lifts heavy objects, walks, and stands for long periods of time, and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, averaging +/-50 hours per week. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.
