Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled painting, surface preparation, and general building maintenance under the general supervision of the Master Trades Craftsman and Superintendent of Maintenance
• Maintain and repair University buildings
• Perform finish carpentry work
• Complete small remodeling and renovation projects
• Perform interior and exterior painting
• Repair all roofs on campus buildings

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Trade experience directly related to the area of employment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Sound judgement and ethical demeanor
• Valid driver's license with safe driving history

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, construction practices, and procedures
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Finish carpentry skills developed through several years of on-the-job experience

Physical Demands

• Climbing ladders and scaffolds
• Crawling under buildings and above ceilings
