About the role

The Carpenter is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role includes hands-on coordination of subcontractors, client communication, job site oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of service and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Develop, track, and adjust project schedules, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Oversee job site safety and compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing issues proactively.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost tracking, change orders, and invoice approvals.
  • Work closely with estimators, superintendents, carpenters, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project handoffs and execution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including reports, RFIs, submittals, permits, and daily logs.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning, value engineering, and site logistics coordination.
  • Identify and resolve field issues quickly to minimize delays and cost overruns.
  • Ensure all work aligns with PRM's standards for quality, customer satisfaction, and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience also considered.
  • Available for after-hours calls on a call-by-call basis from your supervisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple small-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills; ability to manage expectations and maintain strong relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to job sites as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to field conditions.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
