Carpenter

About the role

As a Carpenter with CXT, Inc., you will fabricate and install wooden and other infrastructure products according to job specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• Cut, shape, and smooth lumber
• Prefabricate window frames and door bucks
• Maintain inventory numbers and submit any material requisitions to management
• Work with a variety of carpentry hand tools and power tools or equipment
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred
• 2+ years of precast or construction experience required
• 2+ years of previous experience as a carpenter required

Skills & Abilities

• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Great hand dexterity and an eye for detail
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Understanding of English language both written and spoken
• Understanding of basic math
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; bend/stoop throughout day
