About the role
This role is designed to be a technical hands-on resource for LaCantina’s current, custom and new innovative product offerings. The role is actively involved in prototype fabrication along with ensuring product integrity of existing products.
Responsibilities
- Build prototypes of new products and improvement concepts.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints and as build drawings.
- Responsible for conducting testing of products in conjunction with Fenestration Lab.
- Write various documentations including SOPs, Installation Instructions, ECN’s, DCN’s and Laboratory Reports.
- Fabricate Custom designed products, prototypes and necessary jigs associated.
- Establish Bill of Material list for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Responsible for production and quality for all non-standard materials and products.
- Perform root cause analysis and correct actions for identified concerns.
- Perform First Article Inspections of parts, processes and jigs.
- Train various departments of product/processes including Manufacturing lines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: AA degree in woodworking/construction trade or 5yrs. on the job training in related millwork field like window and door manufacturing. Equivalent combination of college and on the job training is acceptable.
- Technical Proficiency operating industry wood working equipment such as table saw, jointer, and shaper.
- Technical Proficiency: Software knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to prepare parts and assembly drawings (hand drafting only)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Valid California Class C driver’s license for operation of company vehicle.
- Strong Organizational and project management skills
- Meet physical job description/analysis of physical demands.
Qualifications
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Experience using CAD software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- OSHA safety training

Pay
Expected pay for this role is between $30.64 to $33.88 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
