About the role
Construct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Installation of millwork carpentry, doors, and other specialty items.
Responsibilities
- Follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs
- Construct and install structures and fixtures
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building framework, including walls, floors, and doorframes
- Erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Work on staging or above ground
- Perform non-carpentry tasks as needed (cleaning, demo, floor prep, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness while working in clean environments and occupied spaces
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
- Work in a safe, OSHA-approved manner
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a strong work ethic
- Learn new tasks and share knowledge to help train others
- Demonstrate consistent attendance
- Communicate and collaborate clearly with the team
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry experience
- Experience with metal and wood framing, drywall, millwork, and casework installation
- Experience installing doors, frames, and hardware
- Ability to travel to jobsite(s) as assigned
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Proficient at reading blueprints or ability to learn
- Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level, and driver index (HP Cummings will provide power tools)
- Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Experience with computers and technology a plus
- OSHA 10 training preferred (will provide if needed)

Pay
$24–$32/hour
Schedule
- Working hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (must arrive early enough to start at 7:00 AM)
- Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule
