Job Summary
Goodman Realty Group seeks an experienced tradesman with a well-rounded skillset in rough and finish carpentry, as well as woodworking shop skills, at Winrock Town Center. The ideal candidate should have experience with routers, table saws, planers, joiners, and other shop tools, and be able to read plans, do material takeoffs, and project layout.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
- Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
- Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
- Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
- Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or construction projects.
- Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
- Able to understand directions and read blueprints.
- Able to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
- Able to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
- Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program; or at least three (3) years of previous experience performing the essential functions of this position.
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Customer service orientation and strong presentation skills to internal and external parties.
- Able to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners.
- Able to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet client needs.
- Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
- A valid New Mexico driver's license, vehicle insurance, good driving record and reliable vehicle.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Sit and talk or listen.
- Repetitive hand motions and prolonged periods of standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- This position requires frequent manual dexterity in combination with eye/hand coordination such as keyboarding and handling of equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Some exposure to viewing a computer screen.
- Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high.
- Must be able to travel (20%) within the metropolitan area.
