About the role
Christman Facility Solutions is a company with projects across the Metro Dallas region, seeking to hire the next generation of innovative minds to shape the world and build. Currently, we are looking for a Carpenter in our Ada, Oklahoma region.
Responsibilities
- Builds barriers for various types of jobsite environments, including scaffolding, drywall partitions, wood/metal forms, cabinetry work, etc.
- Prepares work area by removing objects interfering with work, ensures all materials are at the jobsite, and performs preliminary work.
- Works with varied materials including wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.
- Utilizes tools including chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to erect and repair structures.
- Utilizes tools including levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
- Joins materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.
- Safely operates a variety of saws and other carpentry tools.
- Checks work along the way to ensure it meets all code and specification requirements.
- Comprehends and follows epidemiology requirements and safety (ICRA and PCRA) documents.
- Install a variety of Division 10 accessories in commercial environments, including multi-stall toilet partitions, fire extinguisher cabinets, and access panels.
- Implement comprehensive wall protection systems, including the precise installation of corner guards, crash rails, and wall panels, ensuring adherence to design specifications and building codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to lay out and execute installation plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project completion.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate workflow and ensure all Division 10 installations are completed on time and within budget.
- Perform finish carpentry duties such as installing architectural trim, shelving, and other fixtures, upholding high standards of craftsmanship.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of carpentry experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
- Must have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
- Must have good communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
- Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
- Maintain tools and workspace organized.
- Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
- Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
