  • Take measurements and lay out forms accurately according to project requirements.
  • Pour concrete into forms and spread it using screeds and trowels to achieve desired consistency and surface smoothness.
  • Cut and shape materials to specified measurements using hand and power tools.

  • Repair and patch concrete surfaces and structures using appropriate materials and techniques.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure conformance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of tools and materials.
  • Coordinate with construction teams—including general contractors, concrete finishers, and other trades—to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a concrete carpenter or in a similar role involving concrete formwork construction.
  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques, including layout, cutting, and assembly of forms.
  • Understanding of concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and curing processes.
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, lift heavy materials, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Precision and accuracy in measuring, cutting, and aligning forms.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to formwork and concrete placement.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Primarily outdoors at construction sites, exposed to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
  • Schedule: Full‑time, with overtime and weekend work possible depending on project deadlines and requirements.
  • Safety: This is a safety‑sensitive position; all applicable policies, including drug testing and background checks, apply.
  • Physical requirements may include lifting up to 50 lb, repeated pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching (or working above shoulder level), walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing, and operating motor vehicles, cranes, or tractors as needed.
