Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in the College Station, TX area are seeking Laborers to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects.
  • Works on roofs, multi-level structures, scaffolds and/or ladders.
  • Maintains a clean jobsite, picks up all tools and equipment and secures tools on job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Performs material handling and storage.
  • Loads and unloads material from trucks, manually hauls and/or hoists materials.
  • Ensures that work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Follows proper safety and incident reporting procedures.
  • Reports problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.
  • Performs manual work in preparing surfaces.

Requirements

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must pass pre-hire screenings.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to travel between, to and from jobsites.
  • Will be required to wear PPE to include hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, gloves, and work boots.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions to include heat, humidity, dust, cold, and at times inclement weather.
  • The noise level in the jobsite environment is usually loud.
  • Must be comfortable and able to work in unpleasant and hazardous environments.

Physical Demands

  • Lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous activities under adverse field conditions.
  • Climbs ladders and into equipment, works on scaffolds, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches.
  • Lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Good manual dexterity (hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Ability to quickly move arms to signal, grab, pull, push, carry, or turn objects, materials, or tools.
  • Sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Use hands to operate equipment and to use tools.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, adjust focus.
