Responsibilities

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Parks and Natural Resources Division (PNR), is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join its Facilities and Construction team. This is an opportunity to put your craftsmanship to work while helping maintain and enhance Arlington County’s parks and recreational spaces. Working both independently and as part of a team, you’ll design, build, repair, and improve a wide range of structures and features—from small buildings, bridges, fences, and roofs to benches, tables, doors, cabinets, and windows. You’ll also share your expertise by providing technical guidance to facility managers, carpenters, and other trades staff. If you enjoy hands-on work, solving unique carpentry challenges, working outdoors, and seeing the results of your work benefit the community, this position offers a chance to build, create, and make a lasting impact across Arlington’s parks and facilities.
