About the role
Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Rehabilitation Unit B team in Charlotte. This position offers benefits eligibility, 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend and night coverage.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess needs for orientation and continuing education for the nursing team.
- Develops and conducts facility-specific orientation for licensed and non-licensed nursing staff.
- Facilitates 30-day new employee orientation and 90-day reunion sessions as part of service excellence initiatives.
- Designs programs to enhance nursing practice and assist learners in meeting licensure and certification requirements.
- Coordinates with Nurse Managers to place students, orient students, and organize preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Utilizes adult education principles to plan, design, and implement educational activities based on identified learning needs.
- Works as a program planner and assesses learning needs through direct observation, formal needs assessments, and program evaluations.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN licensure required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- 3 years clinical experience in related areas (OR, ER, acute care) required.
- Specialty certification may be preferred or required for specific areas (e.g., Med Ctr Air Flight Nurse Educator).
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift and support up to 51 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Physical demands include long periods of sitting, frequent walking, and travel within the hospital grounds and to other facilities.
- Must have intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity.
- Must be able to concentrate and apply critical thinking skills.
Skills
- Experience in adult education principles.
- Ability to plan, design, and implement educational activities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and techniques.

Pay
$41.10 - $61.65 per hour based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, eight-hour shifts, with rotating weekend and night coverage as needed.
