Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers across 14 cities in Summit County. This is a calling for those who genuinely care about the elderly community.
What Your Day Looks Like
- You drive to someone’s home.
- You help them with daily life activities such as baths, getting dressed, making meals, light cleaning, and running errands.
- You keep them company.
- Most clients are older adults who need assistance to stay independent.
- This work involves physical labor, including helping people move around and being on your feet most of the day.
- If you need help with tasks, you can discuss alternatives.
- You do not give medicine or handle medical tasks, which are for nurses.
Before You Apply
Home care is not just a job; it’s a calling. This work is for those who genuinely care about the elderly community, not just those chasing a paycheck. Vulnerable clients depend on you to show up, and quitting can impact their ability to stay independent.
What You'll Earn
- $18/hour for STNA license (active or expired).
- $16-18/hour for HHA certificate or experience, based on interview.
- $16/hour for free training pathway.
- $19-20/hour for caring for a private pay client.
How Your Day Looks
- Shift lengths vary from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on the client's needs.
- Most shifts are spread across different days.
- Attendance is crucial; no-shows and last-minute cancellations are not acceptable.
Guarantee
We guarantee that if you can travel anywhere we have clients and work with any client, you will start working. We always have clients available, and if there's no immediate match in your area, you are first in line when one opens up.
Reality
- Your client availability may be smaller if you set specific limits.
- Travel limits and preferences are respected.
- First 2 weeks involve testing reliability with fill-in shifts.
- After that, your regulars are yours.
- You can pick up extra fill-in shifts anytime.
Pay
- Starting at $16/hour with potential raises based on performance.
- Raises occur at 90-day, 1-year, and 2-year reviews.
- Extra money for perfect attendance, referrals, and private pay clients.
Four Ways to Get Started
- STNA (fastest): $18/hour, active or expired license.
- HHA certificate: $16-18/hour based on interview.
- Experience under a licensed nurse: $16-18/hour based on interview.
- Newcaregiver free training: $16/hour.
Verification of Experience
- Ohio law requires verification of experience by calling the former employer.
- Options for verification:
- Option 1: STNA license.
- Option 2: HHA certificate.
- Option 3: Experience under a licensed nurse.
- Option 4: Free training.
Compensation
- Performance-based raises.
