CAREGIVER FSS WORKER

Duties & Responsibilities

• Interact and engage with family/caregivers and children/youth to offer educational, advocacy and support resources.
• Maintain and encourage the caregivers’/families’ self-sufficiency in caring for the child/youth in the home and community.
• Address needs and issues of relevance to the caregiver/family unit as the child/youth is supported in the home and community.
• Educate and train the caregiver/family unit on resource availability.
• Provide guidance in the principles of the children’s chronic condition or life-threatening illness.

Requirements

• High school diploma, high school equivalency preferred, a State Education Commencement Credential (SACC) or Career Development and Occupational Studies Credential (CDOS) required.
• 1-year experience working with children/youth in foster care or in a Children’s Mental Health Program or related human service experience preferred.
• Positions in Lower Hudson Valley require a valid, non-restricted Driver License.

• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Stand; use mobility, handle, or feel and reach.
• Sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
