Career Navigator
About the role
The Career Navigator supports participants in achieving meaningful employment through individualized career services and job placement assistance. As a Career Navigator, this role provides career counseling, employment preparation, and retention support tailored to participant goals and labor market trends. The Career Navigator also builds relationships with employers and community partners to create job and training opportunities. Ultimately, the Career Navigator helps individuals gain the skills, confidence, and connections needed for lasting career success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach, intake, assessments, and individualized service planning.
- Provide one-on-one and group career counseling, pre-employment workshops, and job readiness training.
- Connect participants with supportive services, training programs, and community resources.
- Develop employer partnerships to identify job openings and promote participant placement.
- Assist participants with job search, applications, interviews, and follow-up for job retention.
- Maintain accurate participant records and ensure compliance with program and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with staff, training providers, and workforce partners to improve outcomes.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and agency initiatives.
- Comply with safety standards and follow operating procedures when utilizing equipment, tools & machinery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in workforce development, career counseling, or case management preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse populations and community partners.
- Travel is required; must have a valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
