The Student Services Professional III/Career Advisor position at California State University (CSU), Chico is a full-time role that supports student success and equity. The position involves developing and facilitating workshops, seminars, and presentations on various topics such as resume writing, interview skills, job market trends, and job search strategies. The advisor works collaboratively with other professionals to design and implement programs that enhance student efficacy and success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and presentations on career planning and related issues.
- Advising students in any of the seven colleges on career planning and related issues.
- Working pro-actively in a team environment to develop and implement programs that encourage and support student success.
- Recognizing program needs and developing creative and realistic approaches to meet those needs.
- Collaborating with other professionals to provide quality programming.
Requirements
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
- Three years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
- Preference given to applicants with career advising experience in a University setting.

- Competence and potential for further growth in performing considerable administrative planning and program management.
- Experience in recognizing program needs and developing creative and realistic approaches to meet those needs.
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals to provide quality programming.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $66,480 - $94,716 per year.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with summer hours being Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
