Care Support Specialist - Men's Shelter

About the role

Light of Life Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Care Support Specialist to work with people in varied circumstances related to homelessness, recovery, and mental illness. This position requires weekend daylight shifts and flexible evening and daylight shifts during the regular work week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations of our Men's Residential Program, High Commitment Shelter, Emergency Shelter, Meal Ministry, and other associated outreach functions
• Monitor the building and its residents
• Transport clients
• Data entry to document outcomes and allocate resources

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• PA Driver's License with clean driving record
• Knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery and mental illness preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships with diverse groups of clients and volunteers
• Ability to adapt to changing situations, utilize de-escalation techniques, engage with a calming presence, and exhibit clear thinking
• Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting, and a self-evaluative lifestyle
