Care Support Specialist

Position Overview

This position provides direct care and support services to participants in a home care setting. Key responsibilities include training and mentoring new caregivers, providing support to caregivers and clients, maintaining ongoing relationships, and staffing support.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call coverage for open shifts or last-minute changes to ensure uninterrupted client care.
• Conduct caregiver training, including skills assessments, shadow visits, and coaching on in-home care, professionalism, and client interaction.
• Perform quality assurance visits with caregivers and clients to maintain Senior Helpers standards.
• Assist with client care support, including ADLs, updating care plans, and promptly reporting condition changes.
• Build positive relationships with caregivers, clients, and families.
• Collaborate with the office team to address staffing needs, support scheduling, and contribute to training programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation for visits, care plans, and reports.
• Partner with the Scheduling Coordinator to resolve coverage gaps.
• Prepare training materials, participate in staff meetings, and provide feedback to improve care and training programs.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience required; CNA Certification and/or license required
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Open schedule Monday–Friday (7:00am–11:00pm)
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• CNA License or Certification
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
