Care Partner (CNA) - Emergency Room - Full Time 12 Hour Night Shift (Union)

About the role

The Care Partner supports nursing staff in delivering patient care, performing clerical tasks, organizing the unit environment, and managing equipment setup and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing staff in patient care delivery
• Performs clerical functions as needed
• Organizes the unit environment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace
• Maintains and sets up equipment as required
• Handles competing assignments and a heavy workload with priority

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Current CNA certification OR enrollment in a nursing program with equivalent training AND completion of “Fundamentals of Nursing” course with a B or better OR completion of a relevant nursing program from abroad OR medical training in military services
• Experience: Six months to one year experience as a CNA in an acute care setting (as defined by the unit)
• Ability: Pass a 4-hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital EHR data entry training course
• Skills: Basic medical terminology and abbreviations understanding, ability to prioritize tasks under pressure

Qualifications

• Licenses/Certifications: Active CNA certification OR enrollment in a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program OR medical training in military services OR current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
• Training: Completion of AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) within 30 days of hire, and maintain the card before expiration

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.00 - $30.87.
