Care Partner (CNA) – 4th Floor Med/Surg Telemetry - Full Time 12 Hour Night Shift (Union)

About the Role

The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in patient care delivery, clerical functions, and organization of the unit environment, as well as set-up and maintenance of equipment. The emphasis on each of these areas will depend on the unit assigned.

Requirements

• Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification (California Department of Public Health) OR
• Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program with equivalent training and completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” course with a B or better OR
• Completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program from a foreign country or the United States OR
• Medical training in military services
• Six months to one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred in an acute care setting)
• Ability to pass a 4-hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data entry training course
• Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations (preferred)
• Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner under competing requirements and heavy workload

Qualifications

• Maintain active California Certified Nurse Assistant certification OR verified enrollment in (or completion of) a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, medical training in military services, or equivalent foreign licensure
• Must maintain active enrollment in an accredited nursing program (individuals who graduate or drop out must re-enroll or obtain CNA certification within 30 days)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association
• AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not held at time of hire)

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.00 - $30.87.
