About the role
The Care Lead serves as a frontline supervisor, overseeing a team of caregivers to ensure high-quality, consistent, and compassionate care delivery. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Associate, the Care Lead balances staff supervision, client assessments, and operational coordination. This role plays a key part in caregiver retention, client satisfaction, and compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervision & Team Management
- Directly supervise a group of caregivers, serving as their first point of contact for support, questions, and performance issues.
- Host weekly or bi-weekly huddles to communicate scheduling updates, celebrate milestones, and reinforce team cohesion.
- Maintain open communication through Teams, text, or calls, ensuring consistent caregiver engagement.
- New Hire Onboarding & Integration
- Personally welcome new caregivers during onboarding sessions, introducing them to the team and administrative staff.
- Conduct 30-minute orientation meetings to review expectations, performance metrics, and what exceptional care looks like.
- Coordinate shadowing opportunities with senior caregivers and manage warm hand-offs for smooth transitions.
- Caregiver Support & Development
- Conduct bi-weekly check-ins for caregivers in their first 90 days, then monthly thereafter.
- Monitor performance via punctuality, professionalism, and client feedback.
- Provide real-time recognition for good work and address issues promptly with kindness and clarity.
- Implement corrective action plans when needed, with clear goals and timelines.
- Client Engagement & Home Assessments
- Perform client home assessments, including intake interviews, documentation, and retrieval of required signatures.
- Introduce clients to the agency, explain services, and provide admission documents.
- Ensure accurate documentation in WellSky and maintain compliance with authorization and care plans.
- Warm Hand-Offs & Continuity of Care
- Manage smooth caregiver transitions by preparing care summaries, introducing new staff, and observing initial interactions.
- Follow up with clients and new caregivers post-shift to confirm satisfaction and fit.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Record all caregiver interactions, client assessments, and supervision notes in WellSky and internal trackers.
- Ensure completion of care plans, admission paperwork, and caregiver performance templates.
- Track and report on trends in caregiver performance and client satisfaction.
Pay
$26–$32 per hour.
