Requirements TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping and stretching and/or walkingAbility to lift up to 20 pounds as neededEye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, calculator, and other office equipmentNormal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports Typical Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment, with contact with patients, office staff, physicians, etc.Travel to different clinic locations as requiredOvertime as required Job Duties & Responsibilities Registers new patients in AthenaOne prior to scheduling appointment with correct demographic and insurance informationMakes sure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are available to the physician prior to patient arrivalAnswers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnelSchedules appointments and immediately enters appointment date and time into computerized schedulerResponsible for knowing the physician's personal schedule and coordinating it with the clinical and surgical schedulesAssists Medical Assistants and Practice Coordinators as neededRetrieves authorization from insurance carrier for servicesEnters office and surgical appointments directly into Centricity and physicians’ personal Outlook calendarPrepares and runs clinicsSchedules outpatient testingConducts reminder calls to all patientsGreets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitorsRegisters patients by verifying that the patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system Provides coverage to other positions as requestedCoordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician officesPrepares all billings in computerized system for processing by Business Office.Codes office charges on e-ticket and sends appropriate op notes and coding information to coder within 5 days of serviceWorking knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding Tracks incoming scans for film reviews for upcoming consultations/office visitsAble to perform all jobs within the office setting when other employees are absentSupports BNA Compliance Program Performance Requirements Reports to work regularly without undue tardinessMaintains positive attitude and demonstrates the utmost in professionalismDresses appropriately and professionally Completes work accurately and in a timely mannerExcellent oral, written & telephone communication skills, along with tact, diplomacy, and strong customer service orientationPrioritizes work activities and receives and assumes multiple job dutiesMaintains effective working relationships with physicians, administration, BBS staff members, and hospital personnel. Education & Experience Graduate of a formal program in Medical Assisting, accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)Two (2) years experience in a medical clinic Comp & Benefits We offer a comprehensive compensation package.
