Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech I Per Diem
Performs comprehensive echocardiographic examinations following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate studies.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and educate patients to ensure cooperation and safety during procedures.
- Perform comprehensive echo studies based on IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) Standard Protocol, including utilization of saline and contrast agents.
- Assist in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Complete clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, ensuring all testing information is recorded accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Report critical results promptly and accurately, following established policy.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner.
- Make recommendations to supervisors on related duties, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a teamwork environment, demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, and accountability in daily duties.
- Engage in problem-solving during difficult situations, seeking assistance or guidance when appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including patient areas after each use.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly environment in the lab, notifying supervisors of stocking or equipment needs.
- Take responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate.
- Clean and maintain all equipment according to Hospital Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate understanding of individual performance impact on the team and seek to mentor and develop others.
Requirements
- Registry through CCI or ARDMS as a Registered Sonographer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems.
