About the role
Performs high-quality echocardiographic exams using IAC-accredited protocols, including saline and contrast studies. Ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout procedures. Collaborates with physicians and team members to support diagnostic accuracy and continuous quality improvement.
- Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) per IAC standards.
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Accurately document and report findings in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and team members.
- Maintain equipment and exam rooms per infection control standards.
- Participate in lab quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Attend required meetings, in-services, and training sessions.
- Demonstrate teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Cross-functional responsibilities include performing EKGs, Stress and Nuclear Stress testing, EEG, and any other delegated duties, with training and support. Complies with the IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) Standard Protocol & utilization of saline & contrast.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.
- Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems and digital imaging systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and protocols.
