Responsibilities
- Acts as a clinical resource for other staff.
- Assesses patient conditions and takes appropriate and timely action.
- Maintains patient records on all procedures.
- Assists the physician during cardiac cath lab procedures.
- Maintains the catheterization procedure room and equipment.
- Conducts physical inventory of supplies as required.
- Implements emergency procedures as necessary.
- Uses acceptable standards of practice to evaluate and implement changes in provision of nursing care with regards to accreditation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited associate or baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, cardiopulmonary technology, cardiovascular technology).
- Minimum of three years of current allied health experience in an acute care setting with cardiac catherization or special procedures experience.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
