Cardiovascular Technician (Non-Cert)

Responsibilities

• Assists by scrubbing procedures and/or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
• May not operate x-ray or Fluoroscopy.
• Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure.
• Maintains par level of all instruments and supplies.
• Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
• Trains new staff in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
• Prepares power injector with contrast medium as directed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab and/or Interventional Radiology.
• Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
• BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required.
• Proficient computer skills.
