Responsibilities
- Assist Cardiologists with invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Scrub and provide technical support during cardiac catheterization and vascular procedures
- Monitor and document hemodynamic status and cardiac rhythms
- Operate Cath Lab imaging, fluoroscopy, monitoring, and procedural equipment
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond quickly during emergency situations
- Assist with defibrillation, temporary pacing, and other emergency interventions
- Educate and reassure patients throughout their procedural experience
- Maintain radiation safety, infection prevention, and patient safety standards
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified as an ARRT, or certified as an RCIS or RCES with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
