Purpose of Position
The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist is responsible for providing quality care in a Cath Lab environment and a positive interpersonal experience for the patient.

- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology
- Associate's degree or higher and a minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Cardiovascular Tech in a Cardiac Cath Lab
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support certification
- IABP - Intra-aortic Balloon Pump Course
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification
- EP Completion of EP training program
Responsibilities
- Assist the Physicians in all aspects of invasive procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring and recording hemodynamic parameters in accordance to policy and procedure.
- Affords assistance in diagnostic interventional procedures operating interventional and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures to insure safety and comfort while preparing for and while undergoing interventional procedures.
- Provides explanation of procedures and answers patient questions to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
- Transfers patients onto medical equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
- Covers work to achieve maximum productivity.
- Sets up sterile tray, cleans and disposes after procedure.
- Assists in administering contrast media.
- Affords assistance in maintaining inventory for the department.
- Participates in activities which promote professional self-growth and development.
- Responsible for all aspects of Electrophysiology (EP) program (applies to EP Tech only job code 8148&8149).
- Keeps current of new developments in EP (applies to EP Tech only job code 8148 & 8149).
- Responsible for preventative maintenance of interventional equipment.
- Cleans interventional equipment.
- Performs routine safety checks and inspections of equipment to ensure these are current, in good order and ready for use.
- Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested.
Benefits
- Schedule Details: 30 hrs per week, 7a-5p, Rot Weekends & Rot Holidays, On call (on-site within 30-minutes) required for nights, weekends and holidays in rotation.

Hiring Pay Range: 36.08 - 56.96
