Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery (Nocturnist) - Full Time NP/PA
About the role
Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served. Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision-making skills. Strong communication skills a must. Will be working with a variety of MDs, APPs and ancillary staff for inpatient management and coordination of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Shifts: Nocturnist - 12hr shifts. rotating schedule 7on-7off with 14-off every 3rdcycle.
- No Call.
- Weekends, Holidays required.
- No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible.
- Procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.
Requirements
Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified. Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required. Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required. Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred.
