Cardiothoracic Surgery - Full Time NP/PA

About the role

The Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Charlotte, is currently seeking a Full-Time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join their established practice in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, provide, and assist in providing comprehensive quality patient care to the Cardiothoracic patients in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision-making skills. Strong communication skills a must.
• Will be working with a variety of MDs, APPs and ancillary staff for inpatient management and coordination of patient care.
• Work in the inpatient setting on a daylight rotating four, 10-hour shift schedule with rotating weekend coverage. Anticipate to work 1 weekend every 3-4 weeks.
• No OR responsibilities. No call.
• Travel may be required to other sites.
• Procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required
• Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred

• BLS/ACLS Certified
