About the Role
Performs highly specialized cardiac ultrasound investigations using advanced techniques such as Doppler, color flow mapping, and tissue Doppler imaging. Operates ECG equipment, records cardiac data, and assists in protecting and helping patients during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conducts adult transthoracic, 2D-M mode, color flow Doppler echocardiograms, stress testing, and assists with transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Performs complex measurements, issues preliminary diagnostic findings, and reviews patient information to prepare for exams.
- Explains procedures to patients, positions electrodes, monitors during procedures, and reports abnormal findings.
- Maintains equipment and supplies, and forwards results to physicians for analysis.
- Performs ECG setup, recording, and data management, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; sonography training or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Minimum 2 years of echocardiography experience.
- ARDMS certification required or equivalent credentials with experience.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
- Current BLS certification; CPI Blue Card within 90 days of hire.
