Position Summary
Performs highly specialized cardiac ultrasound investigations using advanced techniques such as Doppler, color flow mapping, and tissue Doppler imaging. Produces tracings of heart electrical activity, sets up ECG equipment, and records cardiac data, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Conducts adult transthoracic, 2D-M mode, Color flow Doppler echocardiograms, stress testing, and assists with transesophageal (TEE) echocardiograms.
- Executes precise measurements, issues preliminary diagnostic findings, and prepares patients and equipment for procedures.
- Positions electrodes, monitors patient during exams, reviews records, and reports abnormal findings.
- Maintains and troubleshoots ECG, echocardiography, and stress testing equipment.
- Edits and forwards results to physicians for analysis; explains procedures to patients.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED; completed sonography training or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Minimum 2 years of echocardiogram experience; ARDMS certification required or equivalent credentials with relevant experience.
- Knowledge of cardiology procedures, basic computer skills, and effective communication skills.
- Preferred bilingual skills (Spanish), BLS certification, and CPI Blue Card.
