Echocardiograph Technologist - Full-Time Day

About the role

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment.
• Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.
• Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.
• Complies with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
• Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
• Shares coverage for stand-by and call-back emergency studies in the evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities and/or rotation through staffed weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Oregon Sonographer
• National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, OR
• National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, OR
• National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
• Pediatric echocardiography experience.
• Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
• Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center)

Skills

• Thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.
• Compliance with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
