Cardiac Technician – Exercise Physiologist

Responsibilities

• Aids providers in the office by preparing clinical charts, obtaining chief complaints, vital signs, performing ECGs, reviewing medication lists, past medical histories, social histories, and review of systems.
• Applies Holter and event monitor procedures and instructs patients on their use.
• Performs stress tests under physician supervision, including nuclear testing.
• Authorizes prescription refills under physician supervision.
• Enters data into the EMR system.
• Provides patient education.
• Performs other assigned tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related major, or paramedic, with experience in stress test training required.
• Strong 12-lead ECG interpretation skills.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Computer literacy, with prior experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
• Prior experience in a clinical position, particularly in cardiology, preferred.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and patient care skills.
