Cardiac Sonographer - PRN

About the Role

Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients, ensuring accurate and proficient cardiac imaging using 2D, M-mode, and Doppler techniques.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with hospital departments for exam scheduling, patient transport, and billing accuracy.
• Assist cardiologists by preparing measurements and exchanging pertinent information for diagnosis.
• Manage exam logistics, respond to patient needs, and ensure timely delivery and distribution of dictations.
• Order supplies, maintain equipment and exam rooms, and participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
• Maintain knowledge of advancements in echocardiography, seek mentorship, and assist with other cardiac procedures as needed.
• Share on-call duties for emergency exams and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; two-year allied health education preferred.
• Effective communication, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively under stress.
• Manual dexterity for performing echocardiograms.
• Two years of echocardiogram experience preferred.
• Required certifications include ARDMS/CCI registration or registration within 18 months, and BLS certification within six months.
